Learning to Climb

Micah has decided that today is the day he's going master the art of climbing. He started off with our little bench in the back yard and then moved on to our coffee table... The fun is just beginning...
He was so proud of himself...
And of course he had plenty of encouragement from Sam...

Silly Boys

I just have to share some really cute pictures of the boys...

Hooray, Hooray for Girls' Day

Yesterday, my neighbor called and told me she was coming to pick up the boys and that I should find something fun to do for the day. I actually took her up on it and got to spend some quality girl time with my friends Danielle and Meg (we missed Jessica very much!). We went shopping and out to lunch...it was amazing! The boys had fun too. They were pretty worn out last night from playing with big kids all day at the park. It was a great day all the way around...I am so thankful for good friends!

Playdough Fun

So, a few days ago I tried yet again to get Sam to play with playdough without eating it. I was really excited because he did really well for about 5 minutes and then it went downhill from there. He decided it was really yummy...oh well, it was fun while it lasted.
This is Sam making "wormens". We had "mommy wormen", "daddy wormen" and "baby wormen".

He loved the pretty green glasses...

Play Day

We spent the day today with my friend Danielle and her girls. We piled all four kids in the car and headed out to Playsource. It's an indoor playground over in Camarillo. The kids had an amazing time and Danielle and I got to relax a bit and just let them do their thing.

Goodbye

Well, we said goodbye to Cory earlier this week. He is off on deployment for several months aboard the USS Ronald Reagan. It has not been a terribly fun week, but before he left we got to spend a lot of time together. For Cory's birthday I had bought him a wine blending kit from one of our favorite wineries here in California. We broke it out the night before he left and had a great time coming up with all sorts of blends. It was quite a bit of wine to drink, but I guess that just made the experience all the more fun.

The kit came with special placemats were you kept track of your blends. You had to rate each of them on aroma, flavor and mouth-feel.

Cory was getting very into it.

That's not really how it's supposed to be done...

We had so much fun with it and came up with some really good wines. We entered our personal favorite into a contest that the winery is holding...the winner gets a magnum of their own blend! We'll see what happens!
Cory actually has his own blog now highlighting the adventures of Lars the Gnome (Cory's little friend he carries everywhere with him). He'll be updating it from around the world...watch for that! The link to his site is on the top left of this page...

Micah's Birthday

Nannie, Pops and Auntie Etta came for a visit this weekend to help celebrate Micah's first birthday. We had a small party on Sunday for him...I don't think he had a clue that it was all for him, but he had a great time eating the cake!
He was not at all happy about wearing the hat...

Sam had a good time with the cake too!

Micah got some awesome presents! We loved this shirt...but there were some Yankee's fans in the room who weren't as impressed with it!

Cory had fun helping Micah open everything. It was a great day. I just can't believe my little boy is already one!!!

Our Disney Trip

Well, we've had a busy couple of weeks. Cory is going to be heading out soon, so we've been trying to spend lots of time together as a family. We took a trip to Disneyland last week. We had a great time but came home completely exhausted. I don't think Cory or I were prepared for how much work it would be with two curious little boys running around. Sam loved it...all but the actual characters...he was pretty terrified of them. Micah did okay. I don't think he had any idea what was going on, but he went along with it and took a few naps along the way.

Buzz was the first character we saw, and the only one he got anywhere near without screaming. The encounter lasted just long enough to take this picture.

Micah was a bit of a party-pooper...but he was really cute sleeping in the stroller!

We were stylin' with our 3D glasses waiting to see A Bug's Life...yet another thing that ended up terrifying Sam!

He had a great time riding Dumbo with Daddy.

Then, Daddy had to protect him from the big, bad mouse...he was not happy about meeting him!

Apparently Cory and I weren't the only ones who were exhausted...this was on the ride home...
