Newport Bound

Well, we finally got the news...WE'RE GOING HOME!!! Cory called me on Monday to tell me the good news. He got a position as an Admiral's aide in Newport!! We are scheduled to arrive in late September. We are all very excited and cannot wait to get there!
As I was putting Sam to bed tonight he looked at me and said, "Mommy, I love you SO much. I'm going to miss you". I asked him why he was going to miss me and he said, "because you are moving to Rhode Island". I explained to him that he was moving with me and daddy and Micah and he said, "but this is our home". I said that indeed, "this is our home at the moment but daddy's job moves us all over the place...we've had lots of friends that have moved all over the country...that's part of what daddy does". He looked at me in all seriousness and said, "I don't want to move all over the place...there's lots of poop in the road". Now, I'm not exactly sure what he was getting at there... I did have to agree that things can get "poopy" at times, but I really tried to make him see that this was a great thing for our family.
Thank you to all of you who prayed for us. We are looking forward to a quiet few years surrounded by friends and family!

Splish - Splash I Was Taking a Bath...

Okay, every so often when I am looking for something to do with the boys I let them give their outdoor toys "a bath". Basically I just fill up a bucket with water and let them dump everything in it and then they splash each other with water... Today was "bath day" for the toys, however it did not take long before it turned into this...

and finally this...

Boys will be boys???

These are some of my favorite pictures from the day...

Happy 4th Birthday Sam!!!

Sam turned four yesterday. Everyone talks about how quickly your children grow up...how true it is! He has become such a wonderful little boy...sweet, caring, helpful, full of energy and laughter. I really wanted to make his birthday special.
We rented a bounce house for the day. It arrived at 9:30am and stayed until 8pm...you can only imagine how exhausted the boys were last night!

The boys got lots of time bouncing and sliding before our friends arrived...

Once everyone came, Sam was having a blast...

It didn't take long before he was hot and sweaty!

I tried to do a circus theme, so we had a funny clown cake stand, face painting, balloon animals and hats, a popcorn machine and snow cones...

The boys love being able to make a mess with cake...it's just about the best part of birthdays!

Some of the girls from VAW 113...posing for a picture to send our husbands...

This adorable train conductor costume was a present from one of Sam's dear friends...it was a HUGE hit.
It was a great day with great friends!
